This program is a high volume approach that utilizes 8 sets of 8 repetitions as the predominant set and rep scheme. The 8x8 program was first utilized by a man by the name of Vince Gironda. We have added our own twists to the original 8x8 program with the biggest one being the utilization of barbell movements that precede the isolation work in each training session. We wanted this program to be a high volume approach because during fat-loss or recomposition phases with regards to dieting, the high volume allows us to better maintain the muscle mass that we currently have.
